| Formed
in 1998 through the merger of the Software Forum (formerly the Software
Entrepreneur's Forum) and the Center for Software Development, the Software
Development Forum is a unique Silicon Valley organization, providing
software professionals with a one-stop shop for information, connection
and education. With more than 1,200 members and 20-30 events each month,
SDF is the premier software organization in the Bay Area, offering:
- Monthly dinner meetings and 13 special interest groups (SIGs)
- Venture capital one-on-one meetings, where entrepreneurs meet with
VCs for advice & funding
- Entrepreneurial business seminars on how to start, fund and grow a
technology venture
- A self-service, multi-vendor testing and porting lab with PC, Mac
and UNIX systems
- Major networking events and more!
SDF is a private, not-for-profit organization funded through a combination
of corporate sponsorship, user fees and financial support from the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of San Jose. |

National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) represents approximately
280 venture capital and private equity firms who manage over $70 billion.
The NVCA was established in 1973 to foster a better understanding of the
important impact venture capital has on the U.S. economy and to stimulate
the flow of private risk equity capital to developing companies. Today,
the NVCA is the venture community's leading source of advocacy, professional
development and information.
NVCA's affiliate, the American Entrepreneurs for Economic Growth (AEEG),
is the largest nationwide network of emerging growth companies focusing
on public policy affecting fast growth enterprises. AEEG represents approximately
10,000 CEO's of emerging growth companies who employ well over 1.25 million
Americans. |

Industry Association (SIA) has represented U.S.-based semiconductor
manufacturers, an industry whose sales exceeded $70 billion in 1997. SIA
member companies comprise 90 percent of U.S. semiconductor production and
employ more than 150,000 Americans. SIA activities cover a broad range of
industry issues that affect U.S. semiconductor competitiveness, including
international trade; technology development; occupational safety and health;
environment; industry statistics, government semiconductor procurement;
and workforce development and education. |
