BayBio is the voice of the world’s oldest, largest and most productive life sciences cluster. It serves Northern California’s 1,300+ life sciences companies. Our members include organizations engaged in or supportive of research, development, and commercialization of medical and biotechnologies, diagnostics, and research tools for human, agricultural and industrial applications.
Northern California is seen as a model for other clusters, having grown from one revolutionary technology into an important pillar in Northern California’s economy. Built by the founders of biotechnology, BayBio was established in 1990 by a consortium of universities, public officials, educators and life sciences executives to foster a regional climate that nourishes the industry’s life cycle.
BayBio serves its members through representatives in South San Francisco, Emeryville and Sacramento, and through coalition partners in Washington, DC.
